CN Tower
The CN Tower is located in Toronto, Canada. It is the tallest free standing structure in the world. It's height recorded at 1,815 feet and 5 inches and it is listed in the Guiness Book of World Records. There is a reason for the CN Tower to be incredibly tall. The reason being that it is being used as a telecommunications tower in 1976, this is because there were many tall buildings being built that lower radio and TV transmission towers were having trouble broadcasting. The cost for the tower's construcation was C$63 million, also weighing at 130,00 tons.
When the weather is clear it is an amazing view from its four observation decks. The elevator travels at 20 feet per second and the ride takes less than a minute. The Glass Floor Level is about 1,122 feet above the ground and just as it's name states you would be standing on a transparent floor but don't worry it has the strength to support 85,000 pounds, an amazing view. The Look Out Level is at 1,1136 feet where as the 360 Revolving Restaurant is at 1,150 feet and a good thing about this is if you're there to dine your elevator fee is waived. The next deck is the Sky Pod which is the world's highest public observation gallery.
Each of the decks provide spectactular panaoramic views of Toronto, Lake Ontario, and the Toronto Islands. On clear days you can also view Lake Simcoe to the north and to the south you can see the mist from Niagara falls.
